Good..but not great October 31, 2007 Justin Hawkins (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Good listening for all 80's groovers, but anyone hoping to hear some of the little gems that those in the know, cruising the clubs at this time, will remember...well they're not here. Still..good value.
Blinding May 30, 2006 Hooligan 69 (London) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Excellent compliation of 80s tracks that I've seen variously described as "rare groove", "disco" and "soul". Now we have "80s Groove". No matter, these are blinding tunes that you will, or at least should, know by ear. Excellent party compilation that you can just leave on "random". Enjoy.
Not Bad August 23, 2005 Simon V 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This collection of 80s tunes is a fair representation of what was making people dance back then. I did not give this five stars because I felt that Disk One included one or two tracks that are just too commercial. However the inclusion of Machine on disk two more than makes up for this. If you want a cross section of dance tunes from this period then this is a fair buy.

If these tunes were good enuff for LARRY LEVAN then without doubt they are good enuff for all those seeking a trip back to the 80's "white sock" soul weekenders. although at first i was skeptical about this series of complilation albums (quanitity above quality) i have been overwhelmed by the depth of quality on this compilation. it seems to have uncovered a few tunes that we may have forgotten (although when you hear them you wonder how) namely: "rock creek park", "Cuba", "i can make you feel good" and "love town" etc, etc.Do yourself a favour spend that money on this!!!
